Civil Society Organization

Non-government organization that advocates for the interests of citizens. Civil Society Organizations focus on different aspects of society and include trade unions, faith-based organizations, health organizations, indigenous people groups, minority groups, and foundations.  In some cases, such organizations may be run to improve the political prospects of particular individuals.
